Wow!  4 years!  I need to get back into my stamping and blogging.  My life got a little crazy.  Since my last post, I have adopted a daughter from foster care who is now 10 years old and just amazing.  She wanted a Chihuahua so I decided to start fostering dogs which has been great.  She is so great with the dogs.  Right now we have 3 foster pups as well as our 2 family dogs and 3 cats.  We have a full house but I love it.  My focus has changed from cards for breast cancer patients to cards with dogs on them.  I plan on donating cards to the rescue I work for to raise money for them as well as making cards to donate in a nearby nursing home. Recently on of our volunteers passed away.  I was working on a card for her before I got the news so I ended up not finishing the card but finished the coloring.  Definitely not my best but I love the image.  It is by Ching-Chou  Kuik and called Chihuahua Lover.
I used Copics but obviously didn't blend that well.  Practice makes perfect right?  Hopefully I can get back into posting more now.  Hopefully I didn't lose everyone!  Thanks!

RCC86 Fall and Halloween - Support

Finally I am writing a new post.  Since my last one, I've gotten a new job and moved to Arizona.  My craft room still isn't set up completely but I have what I need for now so I can at least make some cards.  The challenge at The Ribbon Carousel for October is to make a Fall or Halloween card.  At the same time October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so I am actually combining the challenge with a card for a cancer support group.  I came across this stamp from Unity Stamps and thought it would be good for a cancer support card.  I stamped the quote in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink.  I used some paper from BoBunny's Autumn Song Collection and added an orange ribbon.  Now that I'm in Arizona I won't get to see the fall colors so I'll just use them on my cards :)

Thanks for looking.

Mojo Monday 300th

Lately I've been distracted by "life" and haven't been stamping much. I saw that the Mojo Monday Challenge was celebrating it's 300th sketch so I decided to play along.  Without sketches I think I'd be lost.  I can get the paper and the stamp but just can't figure out how to put them together.  Since Kraftin' Kimmie is participating with this challenge I used one of my favorites for the Cancer Center thank you cards, Nurse Nightingale.  I paper pieced her apron and colored her with Copics.   I tried the out of the box cutting technique with her so she is a little outside the square.  Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog and have a great weekend.

For Prescott

This is a hard post for me to write.  I went to college in Prescott, AZ.  While I didn't know any of the men who died, I am hurting because the town I love so much is hurting.  I haven't been able to stop crying since I heard the news. These men go out and fight these fires every day and have saved countless lives.  Prescott is a very small town but that is what makes it so great. I really hope that they can all find the strength they need to get past this and soon. I am working on two cards today.  One is for the Prescott Fire Department and one is for the sole survivor of the Granite Mountain Hotshots.  He probably needs support more than anyone.  There was nothing he could have done but I know he must be questioning everything and dealing with a tremendous amount of survivor guilt.  I want him to know we all care about him.  This card is for the fire department.  I used MFT's Firefighter boy and colored him with Copics.  The purple ribbon is to show support for those who have died.

Supplies Used:  MFT Pure Innocence Firefighter Boy, Verve Kind Words, BoBunny Liberty paper, Verve Starry Die

I am entering this card in the Ribbon Carousel July Challenge -  Country Pride and Celebrations.
Thanks for looking and please keep the families of the firefighters who died in your thoughts.

RCC80 Showers and Flowers

I made this card for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge this month - Showers and Flowers.  I recently got the Stamp of the Month kit from Taylored Expressions.  I can never find the right colored cardstock when I'm making a card so I love that they do it for you.  The stamps are from the Make it Memorable stamp set.  I colored the flower with copics and used the matching die to cut it out.  Then I stamped the background in Memento Soft Leaf ink and popped the flower up on top.  I used the matching ribbon that came with the kit (also something I never seem to have).  I like the way this came out and am planning on making several more in the same design.  It's always nice when you have a simple design.  I think I had the lights too bright for this pic so I'm sorry for the background image being a little faded.  It's light to begin with.  Thanks for looking.

First Communion

My Goddaughter (also my niece) is having her First Communion this month.  I asked Mo Manning if she was planning on creating a girl First Communion digi and what do you know?  She was.  One of the reasons I love digi stamps is that you can get them so fast.  I colored this girl with Copics and chose some sparkly star paper from my stash.  I am still fooling with my Photoshop Elements (no matter how many tutorials I try I still mess it up lol). I wanted a white background but that wasn't going to happen.  I've gotten behind in my cardmaking but I am hoping to get back on schedule and have more cards soon.  Thanks for looking.

I always love the time of the year when the daffodils and tulips start coming out. You know Spring is just around the corner.  LOTV recently had a new release and being the crazy stamp collecting fool that I am I had to buy the whole release.  Seriously..I need help.  I just couldn't make up my mind lol.  I have to say though that this is my favorite stamp from the release.  The bunnies are so adorable.  For my card I colored the bunny and flowers with Copics.  I added some glossy accents to the vase to give the look of water.  I think this is a stamp I will use a lot. I am still working on my photography. I got Photoshop Elements and followed a tutorial but my light is always off.  I will keep working on it though.

Supplies:  Lili of the Valley - Flower Arranging, A Muse Artstamps Thank You for Everything, Verve Stamps - Pennant Trim Die, Heavenly White Ultrasmooth paper, Athentique Seasons: Summer
