Follow Your Heart - Support

I made this card using the Support Bird stamp from Outlines.  I am entering it in Outlines Challenge #37 - Follow Your Heart.  I colored this bird using Copics and used papers from Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection for backing.  When I saw the challenge I thought this bird would be perfect since he has hearts on his wings and tail.  I must say I really enjoyed coloring it and can't wait to try out more color combinations.  Thanks for looking.

A Little Southwest

When I first learned to stamp it was in Arizona, so I was using a lot of Southwestern stamps.  I'm in the East now where there isn't as much interest in these kinds of cards, but I still love to make them from time to time.  This card also uses a technique I learned that is great with Prismacolor pencils.  I used a stamp from Copper Leaf Creations.  I colored it using Prismacolor pencils and cut it out.  I put an embossing stamp pad over the whole circle and dipped the image in clear embossing powder, embossed and repeated two more times.  What makes this so nice is that since the pencils are wax based heating them makes them blend together more.  Once I was done embossing, I backed the image with black and put it on a piece of Glitz French Kiss paper.  I used my scalloped ribbon border die for the black border.

Pure Innocence

Good morning. I actually made two cards last night which is a big accomplishment for me. So far my New Year's resolution to craft more and play games less is working (yes I'm a gamer). I have two sets of Pure Innocence stamps that I bought and hadn't managed to make a finished card with yet so I used those last night. I am still going with CAS since these are going to the Cancer center and I want to avoid bulk if I can. I absolutely love these little girls! I swear I'd buy them all if I could lol. My first card is using  Pure Innocence -Have Hope from MFT.  I colored her with Copics and tried to create the needle hole border around the outside.  She is backed using paper from Basic Grey kissing booth and put on a Latte A2 card from Memory Box.  The ribbon was from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club and I used my favorite thank you stamp which is from A Muse.

My second card uses Pure Innocence-Girl Doctor from MFT.  I colored her with Copics and used papers from the Winterland paper pack.  I used my Nestabilities Oval as well as  the scallop ribbon border die from MFT and sponged some distress ink around the oval to make it blend in a little more.  The card is a natural card but I'm not sure on the exact name.

KK In the Spotlight

I decided to enter this card in the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge this week - In the Spotlight. To be honest, I don't love this card but I really wanted to try out some new dies I got and thought this would be a good image to try it with.  I used Kimiko and put the focus on just her face.  I haven't quite mastered the use of greys for skin.  I also wanted to put the focus on her umbrella.  I colored her with copics.  I must say I do love these new dies.  They are the layered label die set from My Favorite Things.  I use the swiss dots embossing folder on a piece of grey stock paper for the background.  I wanted to keep it simple so the focus was on Kimiko.
Thanks for looking.

Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge #117

I just finished this card last night and it turns out it fits into  challenge #117 at Mo's -  Clean and Simple so I figured I'd enter it.  I don't do too many guy cards so I'm trying to make some more of those.  I chose Fishing by Mo Manning.  I decided to use watercolor pencils for this one and keep it simple.  The striped paper is from one of the Memory Box packs. Thanks for looking.

Happy Sunday!

It is definitely a happy Sunday for me since the 49ers won last night.  Yay!!!  During the second game I made this card.  I have really been struggling with good designs.  Many of the cards I see have many layers and embellishments which makes them look great, but since I'm trying to make cards to give to cancer patients to give to their caregivers and doctors I am trying to go easy on the bulk so if they mail them they don't have to pay more. My cards seem plain to me but for my purpose I guess they are good.  When I saw this stamp my first thought was "watercolors".  I've been using Copics a lot lately but felt that this image would look good watercolored.  The image is Wryn-New Nest by Tiddly Inks.  I used my watercolor pencils with her and just matted her on plain green cardstock on a kraft card.  I really like the way she came out.  However, as is typical with me, I felt I put her on the card crooked and of course ripped the paper trying to get her off ( I should really use re-positionable tape lol).  Since I liked the card I thought I'd just use her as a sample.  I'll make more of her now that I have the basic design down.  I am not all that happy with her hair so it gives me a chance to do it over.  I know the colors to use for red with copics, but pencils is another story.  My niece is a redhead and a tomboy so Wryn reminds me of her.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

Kraftin' kimmie Challenge #110

The challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie this week is to use 3 shapes. I usually think of shapes as your typical square, circle, triangle, etc but used some different shapes on this card.  I used Takara for my stamp. I colored her with copics.  My shapes are rectangle, flourish and the sentiment tag with rounded rectangle and circles for the gems.  The card base is by Memory Box and the background paper is stock paper I had laying around.  Thanks for looking.

Tiddly Inks Wryn

As soon as I saw the new Tiddly Inks release I fell in love.  These girls are so adorable!  I thought that Wryn - Grow a Little Love was perfect for a thank you card and since that is my current focus that is what I made :)  For the "Thank You" I used a stamp from Penny Black.  I colored her with my Copics and decided to use Glossy Accents which I have but hadn't even opened yet.  I put those on the heart flowers to add a little dimension to it.  The card and solid papers are Memory Box and the print is Basic Grey - Apple Blossom.  I can't wait to color the other Wryns.
