Penguin Thanks

I got this set of adorable penguin stamps (Cold Nose Warm Heart ) from Penny Black.  I colored them with Copics and added some stickles and a snowflake that was cut using MFT Die-Namics. That is my last post for today and I'm off to watch the 49ers hopefully win tonight.  Thanks for looking.

MFT Sketch 103 - Warm Wishes

I made this card for the weekly sketch challenge at My Favorite Things.  I hate to admit it, but my stitching on this card is horrendous lol.  I am still working on learning to stitch on paper and to be honest, I was never very good at stitching a straight line on fabric.  Must be why I have so many quilt pieces and no quilt :)  Anyway, I colored this cute girl with Copics.  The papers I used are from Kaisercraft Chanteuse Collection.  I didn't want to use Christmas colors since it will be after Christmas before anyone gets this.  This is going to be another card for the kids at Newtown.  I don't think I'll get too many done by the first week in January but I'm trying.  Here is my card.  The border and sentiment tag were done with Die-Namics from MFT.  The stamp is Pure Innocence -Warm Wishes.  Now back to making cookies :)   Happy Holidays everyone!

TSG 186 Sketch Challenge and Newtown

The challenge at There She Goes Stamps was a sketch challenge which I always love.  Coming up with a design is the hardest part for me.  This was a great sketch.  I have really been loving this Holiday Cheer set.  The stamps are so cute.  I colored this stamp with Copics and added some stickles to the snow.  I embossed the purple strip with snowflakes.  This card will be sent to Newtown for the Drawn Together Fundraiser.  They are collecting art supplies for the kids but are also collecting cards for them.  I'm fortunate that I have a lot of cute stamps that could be used for adults or kids :)  So anyway, here is my card.

I came across a post on Splitcoaststampers on how to photograph your cards.  Lately my pictures have been going downhill, but this one seems better.  The post can be found here in case anyone else has trouble. It's a good tutorial.

KK Challenge 159 - Keep Cozy

The Challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie's this week is Keep Cozy.  To me, nothing is cozier than cuddling with my kitties. I love this cracks me up.  Probably because it hits very close to home.  Am I the only one who finds their unmounted rubber stamps all over the house thanks to a cat?  I used Copics to color the image and since she is so big, I decided just to use her as the focal point and not add paper. The cat is supposed to be black, but that is an area I'm still working on.  I love black cats.   I got some glare taking this photo so it didn't come out as nice as I would have liked.  Thanks for looking.

Angel Mail

I decided to make this card for a change of pace.  Originally, I started making cards because there weren't any good support cards for women with breast cancer.  All of my recent cards have been "Thank You" cards that I donate to cancer centers for women to give to friends, doctors, family, etc.  The problem with the support cards is that we leave a box in the office for people to take cards from and I'm not sure someone with cancer would want to take a support card for themselves.  I'm hoping that a family member or friend will take this one for them though.

I recently discovered There She Goes Stamps and I am really loving these stamps.  I used the Angel Mail set for this card.  I colored the wings with Copics and then covered them in Stickles.   The paper I used is Memory Box. I used the Fishtail Flag Die-Namics from My Favorite Things (I seem to use this a lot lol).  I'm not too sure about the wings..having fragile things on my cards makes me nervous.  Hopefully they will hold up okay :)

Angel Thanks

When I saw this Pure Innocence Angel from MFT I knew I had to have it.  I like the idea of guardian angels and would like to think we each have one by our side when we go through especially tough times.  This sentiment is also perfect for a thank you card.

Baby It's Cold - KK Challenge #157

I suddenly realized it is now December and I haven't made any Winter/Christmas cards. I don't usually send them out to people, but I do want some wintery thank you's for the cancer center and support groups, so I need to get going. My first one I actually made for the latest challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie - Baby It's Cold Outside.  Hopefully this will start a roll for me lol.  I used Joy for this card.  I colored her with Copics and put her walking in the snow. The picture did not come out as well as I would have liked but I do like the card in person :)  I added some Stickles to her for some added sparkle.  My paper is Winter Wishes from Echo Park and the sentiment and die for the sentiment are both from Verve.  Thanks for looking.
